Great site, and I would like to thank chief Dan for the great tour we had on the night of 27 August 03.It was good to see the cooperation that you have between the full time fire fighters and the volunteers. I hope that we can have the same cooperation one day in the Oromocto Fire Dept.

I lived in Calais many, many years ago - from 1954 to 1956. My family lived across the street from the fire station. I think that was on Church St. (it's been a long time). There was a large 2 or 3 story house sitting on a hill across the street from the fire station. The house was divided into apartments. We lived in an apartment on the second floor of this house. Next door, but at the bottom of the hill, was the Calais phone company. I noticed on your website you have a firefighter named Bernard Johnson who has been with you for 46 years. I wonder if he might remember us at all. My father was the Air Force recruiter in town. His office was located on the second floor of the post office - at that time on Main Street. We had a black cocker spaniel named Sarge who was known all over town (this was before leash laws) but was a particular favorite at the fire station. He ate very well at home but was very good at begging from the firemen, who fed him frequently. He could often be seen flying down the street after the fire truck as it left on a call. As I said, this was a very long time ago, but seeing your website made the memories return and I thought I'd see if Mr. Johnson might remember any of this also.
